Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute has its ownership title after 19 years
The Treasury assigned over 100 plots worth close to 300 million PLN to the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź.
Last Wednesday, the notarial deed to that effect was signed by Dawid Jackiewicz, Minister of Treasury, and Professor Maciej Banach, Head of the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź. The institute is one of the largest specialist medical centres in Poland. Thanks to the agreement, the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute became the owner of plots which the Institute has operated on for many years.
For 19 years, neither my predecessors nor any other persons who should have regulated the problem, were able to cope with it. It turned out that given some goodwill, some involvement in the process, the Ministry of Treasury led by me managed to cope with it, said Minister of Treasury, Dawid Jackiewicz.
After close to 19 years, the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź has acquired the ownership title to the real properties at last. This is of key importance for the everyday, stable possibility of the Institute's functioning, just to mention contracting loans secured on the real properties. The funds are required for continued operations and guaranteed high quality of serving our small patients, ill children in the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź. We managed to complete the process. Another one is still ahead. We will try to proceed it equally fast and ably, Dawid Jackiewicz added.
The second stage is to comprise assignment of other plots of land to the Institute, after their legal status has been clarified.
This is a time of immense importance for us as we are the owner of plots the Institute functions on after so many years, said the head of the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź, Professor Maciej Banach last Wednesday, following the agreement execution ceremony. He remarked also that the Institute, not being the owner of the land, could not speak to any bank with respect to any financial aid. The Institute has been in the course of deep restructuring. The agreement of Wednesday changes our position. We can go to banks at last. We can discuss the loans or mortgages. Thanks to that, we can invest as the money should be used not only for financial restructuring of the Institute but also for investments which are to translate into the improved financial standing of the Institute, the head of the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute stressed.
The Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital Research Institute in Łódź is composed of two hospital complexes, i.e. OB-Gyn and pediatric one. The centre provides comprehensive services in both scopes and in many areas, especially related to the high-risk pregnancies and to the prenatal and postnatal care of children with developmental defects, being the highest level reference centre. Each year, the Institute has about 40 thousand patients, with over 180 thousand specialist consultations offered in the outpatient clinics.
