Warsaw comes third in European Cities Entrepreneurship Ranking

Warsaw took third place in Banque Populaire ranking of Europe’s favourite business locations, leaving London and Brussels behind on the list, with only Frankfurt and Malmoe ahead of the Polish capital. As cited by investors who gave their vote for Warsaw, one of the major advantages the city offers is access to capital for small and medium enterprises, including EU structural funds.

Warsaw climbed up seven places, from number 10 last year. A total of 170 thousand entrepreneurs, including almost 4.5 thousand CEOs from 37 European cities located in 18 countries took part in this year’s edition of the survey. Entrepreneurial climate was assessed based on five scoring criteria: access to and promotion of entrepreneurship, pre and post creation support, access to external funding and general quality of environment were a company conducts its operations.

According to experts, by providing as much as 80% of added value to the nation’s economy, small and medium enterprises are major contributors to Warsaw’s economic success.

The European Cities Entrepreneurship Ranking was conducted by Banque Populaire for the third time.
