Description of activity
Energa S.A. is a holding company for 44 legał entities. Group companies' key activities focus on electricity generation, distribution and trade as well as the provision of services to electricity customers. One group company is Energa Elektrownie Ostrołęka S.A. power plant group, the largest producer of electricity and heat in north-west Poland and Poland's pioneer of biomass use in the energy industry. Another group company is Energa Zakład Elektrowni Wodnych Sp. z o.o. in Straszyn, the largest producer of hydroelectric energy and owner of the hydroelectric power plant on the Vistula River in Włocławek. The remaining group companies are engaged in construction, design, supply, transport, information and communication technology. The group provides electricity to 2.4 million households and to more than 300 000 companies. The Energa Group distribution system operator provides services to an area of 75 000 square kilometres. Energa Group has a high 30% share in the domestic market for renewable energy. The most attractive renewable energy resources in Poland are located within the group's area of operations. The company's strategy is geared towards long-term development of the Capital Group's key operational areas and obtaining new capacity from conventional and renewable sources. Energa also plans to develop new lines of business and to restructure the group.

Planned privatisation
85.45% of shares is held by the Treasury. It is planned to privatise the company by means of negotiations undertaken on the basis of public invitation. The Ministry of Treasury intends to sell up to 82,90% of the Company's shares. The completion of sale is scheduled for 2010. On 11 June 2010 the Ministry of Treasury informed that 5 out of 8 Potential Investors were allowed to participate in the process of due diligence.
